Mainz 05 director of sport Christian Heidel has confirmed reports that Brajan Gruda is on the verge of a move to Brighton & Hove Albion.
However, he stressed that the deal hasn't been finalized yet.
"As things stand, the transfer is not done because nothing has been signed yet," Heidel said on Wednesday afternoon, according to SID.
"But there is a very high probability that the transfer will go through. The talks have been going on for ten days."
After it was reported earlier in the summer that Mainz would demand up to €50 million for Gruda, reports have suggested that a fee between €30 and €40 million is being discussed between the two clubs. Heidel, however, did not want to go into details on the matter.
“I never said that Brajan would cost €50 million. But I was very happy that the figure was being mentioned,” Heidel said.
He went on to reveal that should the transfer go through, Mainz will sign “more than one player”.
