Mainz 05 has supposedly entered the race for VfB Stuttgart's out-of-favour attacker Silas Katompa Mvumpa.

Sky Germany have confirmed that there have been concrete discussions in recent days between the two Bundesliga sides.

Meanwhile, it was reported yesterday (1 January) that second division outfit Hannover 96 are also courting the DR Congo native.

The pay-TV channel also notes that clubs from the Turkish Süper Lig are also interested in the 27-year-old.

Silas' contract expires in the summer and Stuttgart is ready to sell however any outcome is currently uncertain.
