Manchester City linked with Werder goalkeeper

Manchester City are being linked with a move for Werder Bremen goalkeeper Michael Zetterer.

The 2023/24 season has been one to remember for Michael Zetterer, who emerged as Werder Bremen's first-choice goalkeeper over the course of the campaign, ahead of Jiri Pavlenka.

Sport Bild now reports that his performances have impressed Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, claiming that the former Bayern Munich coach "has his eye on the Bremen player".

Manchester City could be in line for a goalkeeping shake-up this summer, which could see Ederson sold and Stefan Ortega take over the number one spot.

Should that happen, Zetterer could arrive as a backup to the former Arminia Bielefeld shot-stopper, according to the report.

Zetterer, 28, is contracted to Werder until 2027.
