Official: Hertha's Zeefuik heads to the Isle on loan

Five days after Hertha sporting CEO Fredi Bobic confirmed that the two clubs were working on getting the deal across the line, Germany's West Berlin capital city side and Blackburn Rovers officially confirmed Deyovaisio Zeefuik's loan-out on Friday.
Five days after Hertha sporting CEO Fredi Bobic confirmed that the two clubs were working on getting the deal across the line, Germany's West Berlin capital city side and Blackburn Rovers officially confirmed Deyovaisio Zeefuik's loan-out on Friday.

Hertha's Dutch fullback Deyovaisio is headed to the English Championship for the duration of the season. The 23-year-old will join Blackburn Rovers on the Isle, who are right in the thick of a promotion push. Both clubs confirmed the rumored loan-out on Friday. Zeefuik is scheduled to report back to the Bundesrepublik in June.

Since joining Hertha from FC Groningen in August of 2020, the pacey right back has had his moments in the blue/white stripes of "die alte Dame". He nevertheless found sparse usage under several separate coaching regimes in the past 18 months. Zeefuik has made just 38 appearances, starting only sporadically. He's scored one goal in the 2020/21 campaign.

Zeefuik's parent club wished him all the best in his new endeavor on their social media channel. In a statement, club sporting CEO Bobic noted that the "arrangement worked for all sides" and expressed the hope that the Dutchman would get his sought after playing time.
