Report: Liverpool turn down Bayern's opening bid for Mané

Liverpool are said to have turned down Bayern's first bid for Sadio Mané.
Bayern München have reportedly seen their opening offer for Sadio Mané turned down by Liverpool.

According to The Times journalist Paul Joyce, 'The Reds' rejected a first bid from Bayern, who offered around €24.5 million fixed plus around €4.5 million in add-ons that would apply if, for example, the Bavarians won the Champions League.

The report states that Liverpool officials "did not entertain the offer", as it fell far below their own valuation of Mané, and that they have not yet been willing to give Bayern a price that would make them sell the 30-year-old.

Despite the initial setback, Bayern have not given up on their pursuit of Mané and remain keen to proceed quickly.
