Moussa Diaby’s transfer is increasing likely

As the summer wears on, Leverkusen’s explosive winger Moussa Diaby is gaining more and more traction in the market. And with his club looking to attract new attacking talent, a Diaby exit is a strong possibility.

An injury-free campaign allowed Moussa Diaby to flourish this season and produce 17 goals and 14 assists in all competitions. A place in the Champions League is booked but in a recent interview while with the French national team, Diaby expressed his interest in playing for a team looking to “win the Champions League” and play in “the big games.”

Leverkusen have confirmed the signing of forward Adam Hlozek from Sparta Prague and are closing on a deal to acquire Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk. While the team at the BayArena are continuously making moves to invest in their future, Hlozek and Mudryk are the type of players to immediately come in and make an impact. It seems with these decisions that Leverkusen are already prepping for a Diaby departure if the right price is met.

That price is now in the range of €55 million. Newcastle United are the most closely linked due to their endless supply of cash and a major need at a position. Arsenal and Everton have also shown interest, but both seem to be out of the race making Newcastle the most likely destination.

Wherever Diaby lands, the French international will make a huge impact. His devastating speed and finishing ability are what every top team is looking for in a attacking winger. And with little injury history to speak of, Diaby is doing everything right.
