After two consecutive loans to the Premiership, Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman finally looks set for a permanent departure from RB Leipzig. Italian sports daily "Gazzetta dello Sport" reports that Atalanta Bergamo are interested in acquiring the player on a permanent basis. A first assessment of Looklman by head-coach Domenico Tedeseco has apparently yielded the conclusion that there is no place on the roster for the 24-year-old.

Leipzig paid approximately €18 million to bring Lookman in from Everton in the summer of 2019. Since then, he's made just 22 league appearances for the German Red Bulls, though he has scored five goals and chipped in a further five assists. Lookman's current market value, down from a peak of €20 million three years ago, stands at about half that. The Italian daily nevertheless claims that RB might get around €15 million for him.
