RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer has been consistently linked with Bayern München in the last few months, but it doesn't currently look like a deal will materialize.

According to Bild and Leipziger Volkszeitung, the Austrian midfielder's proposed move to the German champions is becoming increasingly unlikely. Meanwhile, Kicker is reporting that Laimer is no longer actively pushing to leave Leipzig this summer.

Bayern don't want to meet Leipzig's €30 million asking price for Laimer, who will be available on a free transfer, when his contract expires in 2023.

At the same time, Bayern actually look quite well-staffed in central midfield once Leon Goretzka returns from injury, and that raises the question of whether they desperately need Laimer this summer.

Last season's flop Marcel Sabitzer has impressed in pre-season and is currently ahead of new signing Ryan Gravenberch in the pecking order to start alongside Joshua Kimmich in the middle of the park.
