Multiple Sources: Leverkusen attempt to procure Gosens

Multiple German footballing media sources are now reporting that Bayer 04 Leverkusen wish to acquire German national team left-back Robin Gosens.
Italian transfer experts Gianluca di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano are now joined by Germa broadcaster Sport1 and Germany's preeminent footballing publication Kicker magazine in reporting that Leverkusen wish to acquire Robin Gosens before the transfer window slams shut.

Reports on how the deal will be structured are as myriad as the sources reporting it, but Kicker reports that Germany's red company team are still aiming for an economical deal. This could be achieved by loaning out Gosens with a hefty loan-fee attached or possibly organizing a swap by which Inter Milan will receive Mitchell Bakker in exchange.

Gosens has long maintained that he would like to play top tier football in his native country for the first time. Moreover, the 28-year-old would be delighted with the chance to potentially impress German national team trainer Hansi Flick and reclaim his starting XI position from David Raum. Gosens maintains a €28 million estimated market value, meaning that the financial obstacles to a purchase remain quite steep.
