Müller and Salihamidzic hopeful of a warm reception for Lewandowski

Thomas Müller and Hasan Salihamidzic have urged the Bayern fans to give Robert Lewandowski a warm reception when he returns to Allianz Arena on Tuesday.
Bayern München forward Thomas Müller and board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic are hoping that Robert Lewandowski will receive a warm reception from the club's fans when the forward returns to the Allianz Arena with FC Barcelona in the Champions League tomorrow.

Lewandowski spent 10 seasons at Bayern, scoring 344 goals in 375 appearances and winning all major titles, before he left the club to join FC Barcelona during the summer transfer window.

Speaking ahead of the game, Müller and Salihamidzic urge the home fans to give the 34-year-old a warm welcome.

"'Lewy' has done an extremely good job for the club. Of course, as a former teammate, who has won all these major titles with him, you want the reception to be warm," said Müller and continued:

"I don't know how the fans feel about him. I'm sure they will express their emotions."

Salihamidzic said:

"He's a player, who won everything with us and put in huge performances for the club. I think the fans will do the right thing."
