Will Choupo-Moting keep his starting place against Hoffenheim?

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is in great form, having racked up three goals and two assists in his last two games, but it's doubtful that the veteran striker will keep his starting spot against Hoffenheim.
Bayern München coach Julian Nagelsmann has hinted that Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is unlikely to keep his starting place against Hoffenheim despite impressing in his last two outings.

With Thomas Müller and Kingsley Coman out and Jamal Musiala not deemed fit enough to start, Choupo-Moting was handed a rare start against Freiburg on Sunday, and he repaid the faith with a goal and an assist in Bayern's 5-0 victory.

Last night, the 33-year-old veteran put on another impressive showing, racking up two goals and an assist in Bayern's 5-2 DFB-Pokal victory over Augsburg.

Asked if he can take Choupo-Moting out of the starting eleven against Hoffenheim considering the form he is in, Nagelsmann was full of praise for the striker, but also pointed out that he's not used to playing so much.

"It's not easy to start two games in a row for the first time in such a long time," said Nagelsmann.

"He's not in this rhythm like others, that he can play 70, 80 minutes every three days."

Thomas Müller should be fit to start again, with Jamal Musiala, Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry and Sadio Mané also competing for the attacking places.
