Union traveling fans excluded from UEL fixture in Belgium, BVB supporters await ruling

UEFA officially handed down its judgement regarding the role of 1. FC Union Berlin fans in a pyrotechnic incident in Sweden on October 6th.

Die Eisernen will have to do without all traveling supporters in their final Europa League fixture in Belgium on November 3rd. Another ruling concerning Dortmund traveling supporters is expected soon. 
The official judgement from UEFA with respect to on-pitch flare throwing incidents during a Europa League fixture in Malmö Sweden on October 6th. Bundesliga leaders 1. FC Union Berlin will have to do without traveling supporters during their final 2022/23 UEL group stage fixture against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in Brussels on November 3rd.

Confirmation of the official penalties for both sides involved in the incident includes specific fines for both clubs. The German European representatives must fork over €40,000 while the Swedes are on the hook for a little less than double that. Union's qualification for the UEL knockout rounds is by no means assured. The Köpenickers sit in third place in their group with two matchdays remaining.

Potential Bundesliga traveling supporters still await a ruling from UEFA on the status of another away match to be played by a German club one day prior to Union's fixture. Danish police responsible for security at Copenhagen's Parken stadium requested the exclusion of Dortmund supporters some seven days ago. A ruling from European football's governing body has not been issued yet.
