RB Leipzig have confirmed the signing of Christopher Lenz from Eintracht Frankfurt on a one-year deal with an option for a further year.

The 28-year-old will mainly provide competition and backup for David Raum on the left side of defence.

"With the signing of Christopher Lenz, we have closed the last remaining gap in our squad and found an important alternative at left-back. Chris has come a long way in the last few years and brings with him a lot of experience and a great mentality," said RB Leipzig managing director for sport Max Eberl.

"He can play in a back four as well as in a back three or five. He is a strong player who wants to get involved - strong in terms of running and tackling, and very solid in his defensive work. With the addition of Chris, we now have at least two players at every position and have completed our squad planning on the incoming side."
