Kicker Report: Union to loan Skarke back to Darmstadt

Germany's preeminent footballing publication reports that SV Darmstadt 98 are set to pick up another familiar attacking reinforcement.
FC Union Berlin expendable Tim Skarke - an attacker with no place in Urs Fischer's regular tactical system - is apparently headed back to his old club. Germany's Kicker Magazine reports that the 26-year-old will receive his second loan-out in eight months. Skarke spent the second half of last season with FC Schalke 04.

Darmstadt have already brought back a familiar face in the form of a renewed loan for former striker Luca Pfeiffer. The Stuttgart loan-out has made his presence known for the Lillies, hitting the post twice in as many matches for the relegation threatened side. The Hessians will be hoping that Skarke can quickly find his old form at his old stomping grounds as well.

Skarke scored 12 2. Bundesliga goals in three seasons spent playing for Darmstadt between 2019 and 2022. He joined Union on a free in the summer 2022 transfer window, yet only made three top-tier appearances for Union last season. Skarke did feature more regularly whilst on loan for Schalke. He scored his maiden Bundesliga goal against Hertha on matchday 28.
