In a match between two 2. Bundesliga teams, Hertha BSC and Hamburger SC will go head-to-head in the DFB-Pokal round of 16 on Wednesday evening at the Olympiastadion.

After a poor start to the season, Hertha are now eighth in the table and unbeaten in their last seven games, having last beaten Elversberg 5-1 at home in a game in which Florian Niederlechner scored a hat-trick.

Die Alte Dame booked their place in the last 16 with a comfortable 3-0 win over Mainz in early November.

Hamburger SV, in third place in the 2. Bundesliga, were 2-0 down against local rivals St. Pauli at the weekend, but battled back to earn a 2-2 draw and a point.

Tim Walter's side are in the last 16 after a dramatic penalty shootout win over Arminia Bielefeld.

Hertha, who will be without Bence and Palko Dardai, Jeremy Dudziak, Obi Maza and Agu Rogel, are sweating over the fitness of Toni Leistner. If he misses out again, Linus Gechter is likely to fill in as he did against Elversberg.

Reis and Suhonen are out for the away side.
