Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Nils Schmadtke has no intention of selling Florian Neuhaus this month.

The 26-year-old is said to be keen on a move away this month, as he is unhappy with his playing time this season.

But speaking after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Augsburg, in which Neuhaus came on for the final 19 minutes, Schmadtke underlined his desire to keep him.

Asked if a transfer would be the best solution for all parties, he told Bild:

"No, Flo is part of this team.

"After coming on as a substitute, he showed exactly what we expect from him: energy.

"He gave the team something, won balls, that was a good reaction from him," Schmadtke said.

Neuhaus committed to a long-term deal with Gladbach last summer, signing until 2027, but has since slipped down the pecking order at Borussia-Park.
