Borussia Dortmund have reportedly intensified their efforts to sign Julian Brandt from Bayer Leverkusen, Bild reports.

According to the German newspaper, BVB sporting director Michael Zorc met with Brandt's father and agent, Jürgen Brandt, three weeks ago to discuss a potential summer transfer.

Brandt is under contract with Leverkusen until 2021, but could leave 'Die Werkself' via a release clause of €25 million.

According to Bild, Dortmund could face competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Atlético Madrid.

Bayern München have previously been linked with Brandt as well, but their interest has significantly cooled, according to the report.

Apparently, the Bayern bosses feels the 23-year-old's performances are not consistent enough while they're doubting that the he has the right mentality to make it at Allianz Arena.

Brandt has scored eight goals and made 16 assists in 40 appearances for Leverkusen this season.
