Matheus Cunha has left RB Leipzig to join Hertha BSC, the two Bundesliga clubs have announced.

Hertha have reportedly paid around €15 million to bring in the 20-year-old who has signed a long-term deal with the German capital club.

"Matheus is a young player with enormous potential who has already impressively demonstrated his abilities. He can play up top or as a secondary striker which gives our more flexibility in attack," said Hertha boss Michael Preetz in a statement.

RB Leipzig signed Matheus Cunha from FC Sion in a €15 million deal in 2018. He played 52 games for 'Die Roten Bullen', racking up nine goals and three assists.
