Bayern Munich have made contact with Newcastle United over a potential summer move for Anthony Gordon, according to Daily Mail.

Talks are not advanced at this stage, however, and are described as being at an “exploratory” phase.

Sky Germany recently reported that Bayern have already presented Gordon’s camp with an initial offer for a five-year deal.

While Bayern are understood to be optimistic of reaching an agreement with the England international’s representatives, the main obstacle remains Newcastle’s asking price of up to €90 million.

Bild has previously suggested that a fee in the region of €70 million would be more realistic for the German champions.
