Bayern Munich supervisory board member and honorary president Uli Hoeneß has praised the work his nephew Sebastian Hoeneß has done as VfB Stuttgart coach.

“I really take my hat off to him. What he has achieved at his club is remarkable,” Uli Hoeneß said in an interview with DAZN.

“First, he took over the team during a relegation battle, and second, over recent years, their best players have been repeatedly sold. And still he pulls himself together, keeps going, and always comes back.

“So honestly: apart from our coach, Sebastian has my greatest respect.”

The Bayern boss added that he believes his nephew would be a candidate to become Bayern coach should Vincent Kompany leave the position.

“He is at least an option. But as far as I’m concerned, Kompany can stay here for another 5 or 10 years,” he said.
