Frankfurt boss on Fabian's failed Fenerbahce move: 'This is a mess'
Marco Fabian's move to Fenerbahce allegedly failed because of a back injury - but that's nonsense according to Eintracht Frankfurt head of football Fredi Bobic.

According to the club, Fabian failed to go through the medical check because of a back injury. But according to Eintracht Frankfurt head of football Fredi Bobic, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Fabian's back.
"What has happened is bad - particularly for Fabian. It's a mess. The boy is portrayed as if he couldn't play football anymore. That's not fair. We absolutely must contradict that," Bobic told FFH.
On Twitter, Fabian has retweeted a statement published in Spanish and English by Mexican television journalist Valeria Marin. In the statement, it's claimed that Fabian completed the medical, but that the Fenerbahce executives made some last-minute changes to the contract that the Mexican inernational couldn't accept.
Fenerbahce since claimed in a press release that the transfer failed because of a back injury, but that's not the case according to Fabian.
Due to recurrent back problems, Fabian underwent surgery in August 2017 and spent several months on the sidelines. After the winter break, he made his return and has been fully integrated in Frankfurt's training since then.
Fabian played for Mexico at the World Cup and was in Frankfurt's starting eleven for the Supercup match against Bayern München earlier this month.
