Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has held talks with Ralf Rangnick about the possibility of him succeeding Dortmund-bound Marco Rose as coach this summer, according to DPA.

The former Hoffenheim, Schalke 04 and RB Leipzig coach has been without a job since leaving his position as Red Bull head of sport and development in July 2020.

Other candidates for the Gladbach job includes Oliver Glasner (Wolfsburg), Jesse Marsch (RB Salzburg) and Florian Kohfeldt (Werder Bremen).

Rangnick has also been mentioned as a candidate to succeed Joachim Löw as Germany coach after this summer's Euros.
