Sport Bild Report: Real and Eintracht weigh Silva-Jovic swap
Germany's Sport Bild reports that one of the final moves of Eintracht Frankfurt sporting executives Fredi Bobic and Bruno Hübner may be yet another striker swap.
Can the duo pull off a transfer trade with Real Madrid involving André Silva and Luka Jovic?
It might prove the case that André Silva departs Germany's commercial capital much in the same way he came. The Portuguese international initially arrived in Hessen via a loan swap that sent SGE forward Ante Rebic to AC Milan. When it became apparent that both clubs were satisfied with the arrangement, permanent contracts were signed.

The question as to where Silva (25 league goals this season) will play next year continues to be a topic of much speculation. Rumors persist that the 25-year-old may be moved after the campaign concludes. The SGE will surely not balk at an opportunity to cash in on his value and the striker himself has let it be known that he his not averse to pursuing new goals in a new locale.
A transfer swap bringing the on-loan Luka Jovic back to Eintracht on a permanent basis may thus be advantageous to all parties. The 23-year-old Serbian has failed to break into Real Madrid's first team since Frankfurt sold him in the summer of 2019 and seems better suited to play alongside countryman and Adler teammate Filip Kostic.
A deal of this magnitude naturally would involve many complex moving parts. Sport Bild reports that both clubs would pay one another transfer fees, with the Bundesliga organization pocketing about €12-13 million after compensating Jovic's agent. The Serbian would then also have to take a massive wage cut, possibly paid for by Real in the form of a severance package.
Given that this asks quite a bit of the Spanish club, it becomes difficult to see the deal getting over the line. Should Frankfurt qualify for the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League, however, there would be some extra cash to flash even for a club that reported €45 million net losses during the COVID-affected campaign.
It's also conceivable that both players, feeling the trade to offer them the best future prospects for their career, would be amenable to making some personal sacrifices in terms of pay.
