21-year-old striker Mansour Ouro-Tagba joined VfL Bochum from 1. FC Köln on Monday. The New York-born Togolese international scored nine goals for VfB Stuttgart II in 3. Liga last season. He also played in 2. Bundesliga during the 2024/25 season on another loan at Jahn Regensburg.
Bochum confirmed that their new number 29 signed a deal until 2030. The 1.91m-tall striker grew up in Germany from the age of 3. Although he was eligible to play for the United States and Germany, he decided to represent his parents’ country Togo, after initially rejecting their call.
“Mansour (Ouro-Tagba) is an attacker who is flexible either as a powerful striker or a pacy winger. He has already asserted himself at a young age. We're happy that our project convinced him.” said former Bochum striker and current sporting director Simon Zoller.
“I’m very happy to sign for VfL Bochum. The sports managers have made a great effort for me. I’m now looking forward to meeting my new teammates and playing for Bochum.” commented Ouro-Tagba after the official confirmation.
