After his relatively brief stint at VfL Wolfsburg lasting a little over one year, Kevin Behrens has found a new club.

The German marksman is moving to Switzerland and joining FC Lugano who have offered him a 2-year deal.

After his contract with the Lower Saxony club expired at the end of June, the 34-year-old was allowed to leave as a free agent.

Behrens, who represented Germany once at international level in 2023, is unlikely to look back on his time at Wolfsburg with fondness.

The Bremen native was embroiled in controversy in October after he refused to sign a fan's rainbow-themed Wolfsburg kit.

In total, Behrens represented Die Wölfe on a mere 18 occasions last season, scoring a solitary goal.
