Towards the end of the summer transfer window, Loïs Openda left RB Leipzig to join Juventus on loan with an obligation to buy that will be triggered if certain sporting criteria are met.

According to Sport Bild, Openda had been pushing for a move for some time, as he was no longer happy at the Bundesliga club.

The report claims the Belgian striker barely communicated with his teammates and was often preoccupied with his phone in the dressing room.

In addition, he reportedly clashed loudly with Xavi Simons, now at Tottenham, on at least one occasion, as he felt he wasn’t receiving enough passes from the Dutchman.

Openda joined Leipzig from RC Lens in 2023.
