Rômulo has been ruled out of RB Leipzig's Bundesliga clash with Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday.
The Brazilian striker missed last week's 2-0 win over Werder Bremen due to a knee problem, which is still causing him discomfort.
“It’s not a serious injury, but we want to give him the necessary time to recover properly,” RB Leipzig coach Ole Werner said at a press conference on Thursday, confirming Romulo will not be available.
As revealed earlier this week, Leipzig will also be without young talent Assan Ouedraogo, who sustained a knee injury against Werder and will be sidelined for several weeks.
“We decided not to take any risks with Assan. While it’s not a serious injury, it could have developed into something structural. We want to prevent that. He has been a very stable pillar throughout the season, so this absence naturally hurts,” Werner said.
On the bright side for Die Roten Bullen, Yan Diomande will be available to face Gladbach, wearing a protective mask after suffering a nasal bone fracture in last week’s win.
