A dark cloud has been cast over VfB Stuttgart this evening as it appears Angelo Stiller has sustained a potentially serious injury.

In a statement on the club's website, Stuttgart's doctors seem to suspect a possible ligament injury in his left ankle.

The incident happened during the first team's pre-season training camp at Rottach-Egern am Tegernsee, Bavaria.

As a result, the 24-year-old is therefore unable to participate in future team training sessions for the time being.

Further examinations, including appropriate MRI scans, are scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, July 31.

Last season, Stiller made 47 appearances in all competitions while providing 4 goals and 8 assists for Sebastian Hoeneß' team.
