Toppmöller backs Kaua Santos to "show a good reaction" after poor showing against Plzen
Dino Toppmöller has admitted that Kaua Santos could have done more to prevent Viktoria Plzen's late goals against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.
Frankfurt goalkeeper Kaua Santos, filling in for the injured Kevin Trapp, didn't look good on either occasion.
When Plzen scored a 3-3 equaliser in stoppage time, the Brazilian goalkeeper wasn't there to cover the net after being knocked down in a goalmouth scramble.
"It was a slapstick goal. But that's the way he plays," said Eintracht Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmöller in a post-match interview.
"In the end, it might not have been the best decision, but it's a learning process for him as well, and it shows that not everything goes the way you want it to."
“It was also a bit of a damper for him today and now it's about showing a good reaction.”
Next up for Kaua Santos and Eintracht is Sunday's match against Holstein Kiel.
