Kicker speculates that Sepp van den Berg could be brought in to replace Odilon Kossounou if the Ivorian defender leaves Bayer Leverkusen.

With Jonathan Tah's move to Bayern Munich appearing unlikely, Kossounou is now the most likely candidate to leave the Leverkusen backline, with the 23-year-old reportedly attracting interest from the English Premier League.

Should he leave, Leverkusen could turn their attention to van den Berg, who impressed on loan at Mainz last season from Liverpool.

Fast, young and good in the build-up, 22-year-old van den Berg has a similar profile to Kossounou.

He's been linked with a number of Bundesliga clubs, including a return to Mainz, but Liverpool's reported price tag of more than 20 million has yet to be met.
