The 24-year-old suffered a torn cruciate ligament and cartilage damage while playing for Canada agaisnt the United States in the Nations League. He has not featured for Bayern since the 1-1 draw with Union Berlin on 15 March.

Speaking on his Twitch channel on Wednesday, Davies revealed he is on schedule with his rehabilitation and feeling optimistic about his progress.

“I’m happy. My knee is getting better, my muscles are coming back. I’m satisfied with how things are going at the moment,” the left-back told his viewers.

Although it will still be several months before he is fit enough to return to competitive action, Davies expressed confidence that he is moving in the right direction: “I'm glad that I'll be back on the pitch soon. It's still a little while away, but for me it feels soon, considering where I was before.”

Bayern's medical staff have made it clear that Davies' comeback will not be rushed, and the earliest he is expected to return is October, provided there are no setbacks.

The Canadian international is preparing for what will be his eighth season at the Allianz, and supporters will be buoyed by his upbeat tone as he continues the long road back to full fitness.
