FC Augsburg is on the verge of signing talented youngster Faik Sakar, according to Sky Germany transfer journalist Philipp Hinze.

The 18-year-old has reached a verbal agreement with the Bavarian club and his contract will run until 2030.

Meanwhile, Sakar is currently tied down to fellow Bundesliga side RB Leipzig until the end of the current 2025-26 season.

Ultimately, talks about an extension had been stalled for some time, with a move to Augsburg seemingly imminent.

A left-winger by trade, Sakar has played in nine games in the U-19 Youth League and Youth DfB Cup, scoring two goals in that period.

Sakar started his career with SF Charlottenburg Wilmersdorf 03 before moving to Leipzig where he progressed through U-17 and U-19 levels.
