Kompany - yet to beat BVB during his reign at Bayern - will be hoping to change that at 6.30pm (CET) this coming Saturday.

With ten wins from ten competitive games this campaign, Bayern Munich are in red-hot form but Vincent Kompany is taking nothing for granted against Dortmund this weekend.

“Such games don't just play on form. It's a game with its own narrative, own event," the Bavarian club's head coach said in an interview with the Bundesliga's official site.

"It feels like a derby even though there's a big distance between both cities. It's a classic. Emotions play a bigger role than in other games - and that's what makes it special.

"Both games last year against Dortmund were good. We played well, but drew to them twice. As soon as you arrive in the stadium, you feel it's a special game.

“At the end of the day, 3 points are important in every game - but even more important in such a game,” Kompany underlined, as he hopes to guide his side to a big win on Saturday evening.
