Fisnik Asllani is widely expected to leave TSG Hoffenheim this summer, but the big question remains where he will end up.

For a long time, Borussia Dortmund appeared to be the most likely destination for the 23-year-old, but Sport Bild now reports that fellow Bundesliga side RB Leipzig have moved ahead of the Black and Yellows in the race for his signature.

According to the German outlet, Asllani is more inclined to join RB Leipzig than Dortmund and considers a move to Signal Iduna Park increasingly unlikely.

Asllani, who has a reported €30 million exit clause in his contract with Hoffenheim, has been touted as a potential replacement for Serhou Guirassy at Dortmund, but it remains unclear if the Guinea international will leave the club this summer.

Hoffenheim managing director for sport Andreas Schicker recently confirmed that talks are ongoing with clubs in Germany and abroad regarding Asllani, who has also been linked with FC Barcelona.

“The situation is that there are talks with clubs both domestically and abroad. It’s also no secret that Fisnik Asllani has a release clause,” Schicker told Kicker.
