Kicker.de are reporting that Bayer Leverkusen will offload at least one defensive midfielder over the course of the summer transfer window.

From a sporting perspective, Exequiel Palacios is the midfielder who, based on his profile, has the most secure place in the starting eleven.

However, his compatriot Equi Fernández is deemed to be the first candidate for sale in the middle third area for the Rhinelanders.

Fernández's refusal to be substituted on in the final minute of the 1-0 win in Dortmund to waste time has jeopardised his status.

Meanwhile, Aleix Garcia could become a transfer candidate, but likely only if a lucrative offer comes in for the Spaniard.

It remains to be seen how Tillman's status, who was determined to leave under Hjulmand, will develop under new head coach Martinez.

Premier League clubs like Fulham are showing interest in the USA international, and a sale can't be ruled out of the price is right.
