Johan Bakayoko, currently of PSV Eindhoven fame, has been a name on the tip of many tongues when it comes to Bundesliga transfers in recent summer months.

Rumours of the Belgian international started to circle again in the latest winter transfer period as the 21-year-old was linked with Borussia Dortmund once again, with RB Leipzig and Italian giants Juventus also interested.

A right-sided midfielder by trade, it comes as no surprise that two of Germany’s most powerful clubs are keen to acquire his signature. Bakayoko has also been delivering on the pitch by finding the net on 10 occasions and providing 3 assists in 30 games.

In the end, Bakayoko opted to stay in the Eredivise. His current employers remain hot on the tails of Ajax with only goal difference separating the clubs. PSV also face Juventus in the UEFA Champions League play-offs this evening.

However according to Tuttosport, a daily sports newspaper based in the City of Turin, Bakayoko could take the next step in his career this summer.

It is believed Premier League outfit Newcastle are prepared to fork out €40million for his services, but the question is whether BVB or even Leipzig can keep pace with the big spenders in the north of England.
