Arne Maier's Augsburg loan move made permanent
After spending the 2021/22 season on loan at Augsburg, Arne Maier has now signed a permanent deal with 'Die Fuggerstädter'.
FC Augsburg have turned Arne Maier's loan deal into a permanent move.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan from Hertha, has now joined Augsburg permanently, signing a three-year deal with the option to extend until 2026.
“Arne Maier quickly became a key part of our team, despite missing some of pre-season due to the U21 EUROs and the Olympic Games. He has become a central figure in our midfield. We are very happy that we have been able to sign Arne to a long-term deal," stated Augsburg sporting director Stefan Reuter.
"His talents as a footballer will be able to benefit us for many years to come. We are also convinced that he still has room to grow as a player."
Arne Maier commented:
