Official: Manchester City sign Akanji from Dortmund
Manchester City have completed the signing of Manuel Akanji from Borussia Dortmund.
English Premier League champions Manchester City have announced the signing of Manuel Akanji on a permanent basis from Borussia Dortmund.
Akanji, whose Dortmund deal was due to expire in 2023, has penned a five-year contract with City.
"I love the way Manchester City play," Akanji commented after signing his contract.
"I watch a lot of Premier League and obviously a lot of Manchester City games, because they have been champions many times in recent years.
"I really like the football style the team plays, and I think I can fit perfectly in that style," said the centre-back.
Akanji spent four and a half years at Dortmund, making 158 appearances with four goals and two assists to his name.
