Report: Reis to be introduced as new Schalke coach tomorrow

Sportbuzzer currently reports that Schalke have now indeed opted to install Thomas Reis as their new trainer and that the appointment will be confirmed tomorrow.
After the surprise release of sporting director Rouven Schröder earlier in the day, acting Schalke 04 chief personnel executive Peter Knäbel is reportedly set to introduce Thomas Reis as the club's new head-coach tomorrow. Germany's preeminent footballing publication, Kicker Magazine, reports the same on its website. Further corroboration is still lacking.

The recently fired VfL Bochum trainer had been linked with the Schalke job both over the summer and as it became clear that the club was preparing to sack Frank Kramer some 11 days ago. Reis was then explicitly ruled out of the position whilst Schröder promised a new coach would be installed in the middle of this week.

According to Sportbuzzer, die Knappen are set to pat Bochum a €500,000 transfer fee for Reis' services. The website cites its own sources to claim that the 49-year-old will lead Thursday's training session.
