Adeyemi retracts Frankfurt post-game comments

Karim Adeyemi knocked over Jesper Lindstrøm on Matchday 12 and controversially, a penalty was not given. On Monday, the winger shared a statement on Instagram surrounding his post-game comments.
Nico Schlotterbeck and Gregor Kobel admitted Frankfurt deserved a penalty after Karim Adeyemi's first-half push on Jesper Lindstrøm. Following the game, Adeyemi said, "I don't really care," and denied that a penalty should have been given.

On Monday, Adeyemi said in an Instagram story:

"To address and clarify the disputed interview! I wasn't shown the scene after the game and it felt different to me in the game. After seeing the pictures, I have to honestly admit that what I said was wrong. If I had seen the pictures during the interview, I would certainly have had the same opinion as Schlotterbeck."

Referee Sascha Stegemann admitted the error and blamed VAR for not properly reviewing the play. BVB now turn their attention to Copenhagen and a derby match against Bochum this week.
