Stanisic extends with Bayern through 2026
After extending with back-up keeper Sven Ulreich yesterday, German record champions FC Bayern München announced that they had taken care of some more administrative business early Saturday.
Josip Stanisic | FC Bayern München |
Stanisic has made a total of 29 appearances for the Bayern senior side since making his debut under Hansi Flick in April 2021. While Pavard and Noussair Mazraoui currently stand above him on Julian Nagelsmann's depth chart, the Croatian international can also play in left and central defense. He's made 11 appearances across all competitions for Nagelsmann this year.
"Josip Stanišić has established himself in our professional squad over the past two years, and this appears the youth academy, because Josip was trained by us at the Campus," FCB sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic noted in a statement, "He is versatile, he performs well when he is needed. His reliability helps our coach and the team. I'm happy that we can continue to plan with him for the long term."
"This early contract extension is a nice sign of confidence from FC Bayern," the youngster himself added, "I wish to repay [this confidence] as it motivates me to continue my development."
Stanisic's existing deal with the Bavarians ran through 2025. The €8-million-valued player surely received a significant pay raise as part of the new package.
