Spanish defenders Pau Torres and Aaron Martin have, according to two Italian transfer gurus, opted not to sign with German top-tier footballing sides. The former was linked with FC Bayern München for a time, though it appears as if the imminent signing of South Korean international Kim Min-Jae has filled the FCB's quest for an additional central defender for the time being.

Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that Torres has opted to join Premiership side Aston Villa instead. Romano's Italian colleague Gianluca Di Marzio, meanwhile, reports that FSV Mainz 05 fullback Aaron Martin (rumored to be weighing a move to SV Werder Bremen) is instead currently undergoing a medical in Genoa. The German football veteran is set to sign a new three-year-deal with CFC.
