Leverkusen confirm that Tah's release clause has expired

Jonathan Tah no longer has an active release clause in his contract with Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed to the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger that Jonathan Tah's €20 million release clause has expired.

However, a move for the 27-year-old central defender doesn't seem to be completely out of the question.

Should a club approach Leverkusen about Tah, "we could negotiate freely," said Bayer Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes.

West Ham have been linked with a move for Tah, whose contract expires in 2025.
