In the first of a series of articles suggesting players for each position, we take a look at the goalkeepers you should have on your radar when building your squad.
Budget options:
Janis Blaswich (RB Leipzig, 5M)
With Peter Gulacsi still out indefinitely, Blaswich will continue to fill in for the Hungarian shot-stopper from the start of the season. Although his points tally last season wasn't impressive, he's an attractive option given his low price and the fact that he's starting for one of the top teams.
Sven Ulreich (Bayern, 5M)
In a somewhat similar position to Blaswich, Ulreich is likely to start the season filling in for the still-injured Manuel Neuer. However, his time in the Bayern goal is likely to be short-lived as the German champions look to sign a new goalkeeper before the transfer window closes.
Kevin Müller (Heidenheim, 5M)
Also costing 5 million, Heidenheim goalkeeper Kevin Müller is likely to get a lot of points from saves, but conceded goals could bring his score down, with the newcomers widely tipped to be part of the relegation battle.
Mid-range options:
Noah Atobolu (Freiburg, 7M)
With last season's top-scoring Fantasy Bundesliga goalkeeper, Mark Flekken, having left for Brentford, German U21 international Noah Atobolu has been selected as Freiburg's new number one. Considering Freiburg's strength and their favorable opening schedule, €7 million is a relatively low price.
Frederik Rønnow (Union Berlin, 9M)
One of the best goalkeepers last season and playing behind a solid Union backline, Rønnow remains an option worth considering. However, it's worth noting that there's a bit of uncertainty surrounding Rønnow's future at Union, as he's being linked with a move to Lazio.
Premium options:
Koen Casteels (Wolfsburg, 10M)
Casteels was the second-highest scoring goalkeeper behind Flekken last season, usually plays consistently well, and has a great opening schedule.
Gregor Kobel (Dortmund, 11M)
If you want to go with an expensive goalkeeper, Kobel is another good option - at least judging by last season, where he was a popular choice for good reason.
