Sport Bild Report: Van Hooijdonk leading candidate in Bremen's search for Füllkrug replacement

Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that SV Werder Bremen have turned their attention to former VfL Wolfsburg target Sydney van Hooijdonk as a replacement for Niclas Füllkrug.
a href="https://bulinews.com/news/18515/">Niclas Füllkrug's €15 million transfer to Borussia Dortmund is all but confirmed. Cameras have caught the German national team striker departing BVB headquarters after passing his medical. All that remains is for Dortmund to make a formal introduction. Füllkrug's soon-to-be former club of SV Werder Bremen, meanwhile, still have plenty of time to procure a replacement.

Bremen director of football operations Clemens Fritz noted at the pre-match presser earlier today that he and his staff were considering "three or four players" to replace Füllkrug. Werder not only have additional funds to work with following the Füllkrug sale, but also pocketed €5 to €6.5 million via the transfer of Bulgarian midfielder Ilia Gruev earlier this evening.

Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that Bremen are casting an eye on one-time VfL Wolfsburg target Sydney van Hooijdonk. The Dutch striker - currently under contract with Serie A side FC Bologna - maintains a current estimated market worth of €6 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. Van Hooijdonk recently returned from a successful loan stint in his native Holland.
