Müller pleased with Bayern's performance despite draw
Bayern Munich dominated possession and shots on goal against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, but had to settle for a 3-3 draw after Omar Marmoush scored an injury-time equaliser.
Although the result wasn't what Bayern wanted, Thomas Muller was pleased with the performance.
“In the 93rd minute, I play a free-kick towards the corner flag, but Marmoush has brutal speed. It was very difficult to defend in the final stages. Jo' starts to dribble, you could say that's not exactly what we wanted,” Müller told German television after the game.
“It ended 3-3, and Frankfurt could have scored a maximum of four goals. I think we have to win this game. Out of 15 matches, we would win 13 and I think that's a good way to play. It was a pleasure to see how we pushed them back because we had a lot of chances to score.”
After a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen and a 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa in their previous matches, Bayern are now without a win in three games, but Müller isn't placing too much importance on that.
“Frankfurt's goalkeeper played an excellent game. Ekitike or Marmoush were clinical in front of goal. I'm very happy to be in this crisis, that we haven't won in three games. The feeling is great, but the results haven't been what we wanted.”
Bayern remain top of the table on points with RB Leipzig and one point clear of Eintracht Frankfurt.
