Werder back under-fire Werner to stay as coach

Apparently, Ole Werner doesn't have to fear for his job as Werder Bremen head coach.
Werder Bremen have made an unconvincing start to the season, sitting in 14th place with six points after the first seven games.

With the Green-Whites having lost three of their last four games, two of which came against Bundesliga newcomers Heidenheim and Darmstadt, speculation has mounted over Ole Werner's future as head coach at the Weserstadion.

However, as Werder managing director for sport Frank Baumann insists, Werner's job is not in danger.

"That is not an issue at all - and it will not become an issue with us. We are convinced of him. In the almost two years he has been with us, Ole has achieved his goals under the most difficult conditions. He will do the same this season," Baumann told Sport Bild.

According to Sport Bild, Werner's job is not in question even if Werder lose their next two games against Borussia Dortmund and Union Berlin.

Werner signed a contract extension with Werder in June.
