Official: St. Pauli extend Hürzeler's contract as head coach

FC St. Pauli and head coach Fabian Hürzeler have agreed on a contract extension.
After lengthy negotiations, FC St. Pauli have announced that head coach Fabian Hürzeler has extended his contract beyond the end of the season.

Director of sport Andreas Bornemann is delighted that the 31-year-old, currently at the top of the 2. Bundesliga with St. Pauli, has signed a new contract.

"We're glad to have reached a decision in this important personnel matter and I look forward to continuing the association with Fabian, which has been constructive, professional and trustworthy from the outset. The day-to-day work on the pitch remains the most important aspect, and that has been characterized by clarity and professionalism from the start of our journey together," Bornemann said.

Hürzeler commented:

"Many thanks to FC St. Pauli for the trust and the collaboration to date. The talks with Andreas and the presidential board were characterized by mutual respect throughout because we all have the same goal, and that is to be as successful as possible for the club and its fans. That's my mission as head coach and I'll continue to work as hard as I can with that in mind."

Both parties have agreed not to disclose any further details of the contract.
