Bayern trio no longer part of Löw's plans

Thomas Müller, Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels have been told they're not part of Germany coach Joachim Löw's current plans.
Germany coach Joachim Löw has informed Thomas Müller, Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels that they're not part of his plans for the foreseeable future.

Löw has travelled to Munich along with Germany assistant coach Marcus Sorg and general manager Oliver Bierhoff to inform the three Bayern stars of his decision.

"We want to continue the upheaval that we initiated at the end of last year. Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels and Thomas Müller are no longer in the national team squad. It was important to me to personally explain my thoughts to the players and responsible at FC Bayern today," Löw told Bild and added:

"With the national team, it's about setting a course for the future. We want to give the team a new face, and I'm convinced that it's the right step."

Löw's decision means Müller, Boateng and Hummels will not be included in the squad for Germany's upcoming games against Serbia and the Netherlands later this month.

Boateng was also left out of Löw's squad in November. Back then, the centre-back said he had agreed with the Germany coach to stay in Munich to recharge his batteries.
