Julian Nagelsmann expects Timo Werner to be fit to start against Tottenham

Timo Werner will be in RB Leipzig's line-up against Tottenham 'if everything goes according to plan', says Julian Nagelsmann.
RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann believes Timo Werner should be fit to start against Tottenham in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Werner started on the bench for Saturday's game against Wolfsburg after he struggled with a minor muscle issue during last week. But Nagelsmann said the 24-year-old was able to train on Sunday without any problems.

"Timo Werner trained like normal yesterday. If everything goes to plan, he'll start tomorrow," he told reporters at the pre-match press conference, as quoted by the club.

"Each one of us will push themselves to the limit tomorrow. It's not often that you play Spurs in the Champions League round of 16 and have the chance to progress to the quarterfinals," Nagelsmann said about the upcoming game.

RB Leipzig won 1-0 away from home in the first leg of the round of 16 tie between the two clubs.
